I headed up to the lakes early this morning for a photo shoot. I have joined a photo club here in our community and our challenge this morning was to take photos using the Manual Mode only. I found out I quite liked it. My goal was to catch a duck in flight and I was very pleased with the detail in the wing feathers.
The sun was shining just right to get a nice rainbow in the fountains.
I tried to get some different prospectives in my shooting. I'm starting to think a lot more about composition.
Later this morning, we headed over to the Tres Rios park for their annual festival. There were a lot of activities for children in particular. I was interested in taking closeups of the animal life. Desert tortoises are always fun to watch. I loved this little barn owl. She had been rescued as a baby. They thought it was a male until she laid an egg but they said it doesn't really matter anyway because the bird thinks she is human!
I think this owl got up on the wrong side of the bed! He is such a character--it just makes me laugh! It was a great day for me and I hope it was for all of you.
