Two More Down and Eighteen to Go
As of tonight, we have had four grandchildren graduate from high school so far but there are eighteen more grandchildren still to reach that goal. Christian graduated a week ago and I had fun taking some different poses of him in our library. We are proud of that young man.

Proud of These Young Men
This past week we had the privilege of attending the seminary graduations of two of our grandsons. Way to go Christian and Kevin!
Christian and Grandma--I have to push him down to be taller than him. He's got me beat by a couple of inches.
Kevin and Grandpa--Kevin is searching for a job for the next six months while preparing for a mission.

May 10, 1979 Was a Special Day! Cheryl Arrived!
Everytime I see this picture I just have to smile. Cheryl is barely three years-old and so proud of herself because at last she can really milk the cow! She has always been one who will try to do almost anything. Certainly milking a cow would be a challenge for a little girl but she grasped on quickly and literally. I can still remember the huge smile that was on her face when she looked up at me--it was wonderful. Cheryl, you are a terrific wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and not such a bad milkmaid either! Happy Birthday, Cheryl. Saturday, May 8, 2010
A Tribute to the Mothers in my Life
First has to come my mother, Bonnie Scott, as I honor those mothers in my life that mean so much to me. I learned to work from my mother. She enjoyed working in the yard, the garden and among the animals at the barn. She spent many long hours planting, weeding and watering her garden. We, her family, were the recipients of its bounty. During those years when we were didn't have much in a monetary sense, we never realized how poor we really were. There was always an abundance of fresh vegetables, fruit, milk and meat that we raised ourselves. As the oldest living daughter, I learned early how to make butter, cheese, bread--all those delicious homemade foods. I was taught how to sew and remodel clothes that were given to me. They were always new to me and with a few alterations they fit nicely. I learned from my mother to make do with little, be happy, not envious of others, and grateful for what I had.
Laura, is that wonderful, tireless mother of nine of my grandchildren. No, I think I'm wrong--she is wonderful but I'm sure she gets tired! I appreciate Laura for the times she has taken to be with us, even to sitting on the steps of a pyramid in Guatamala. Thank you for being that kind of mother and daughter who wants to spent time with family.
Cindy is the mother of five of my sweet grandchildren. I honor her for the time and effort she puts into ensuring that they attend to their church responsibilities and be highly involved in Scouting. I enjoy the time I spend working and sharing with you. Thank you for being such a good wife to my son and mother to my grandchildren.I dearly love all six of these special women and mothers who have added so much to my life. Happy Mother's Day!
